Q: What’s one thing you’d want people to remember about your company/brand?
A: We’d like people to remember the positive connection between Blackness and brilliance. We send this message via our strikingly beautiful packaging, through our use of clean ingredients, through our steadfast commitment to community, through our scent storytelling and through the business practices of our Black-owned business.
Q: What are 3 things that inspire you?
A: So many things inspire me! Three of these things include:
Children – their laughter, their questions, their ability to cut through BS, their simple, but profound logic.
Biographies – James Baldwin said, “You think your pain and your heartbreak are unprecedented in the history of the world, but then you read.” Understanding the plights and triumphs of others inspire me.
Compassion – There is a quiet strength in listening, forgiveness, perspective sharing, expressing concern and committing to trying to understand others, even when they’re different, even when they’ve hurt you, even when you’re angry. The human capacity to exercise compassion is not just fascinating, it’s really really inspiring.
